The violet room is a big, spacious bedroom with two large windows. These give on  the the villa’s private garden – flowers, shrubs and climbing roses – in the suburbs of Toulouse.

There is a double bed, a desk with chair, a bedside table with a lamp, an armchair, a wardrobe with space to hang clothes and a mirror. The redbrick fireplace is for show.

The floor is carpeted. The heating is by gas-fired central heating.

The windows face south and west.
